Import & Export

Import existing projects or export your Kodezi Create projects using ZIP, Git, or folder sync.

Kodezi Create allows seamless movement of projects into and out of your workspace. You can import older chats, Git repositories, or local folders, and export your work at any time.

Import Projects

You can import projects in three different ways depending on your workflow.

1. Import from Chat

Use this when you want to continue a project from a previous Kodezi Create chat export.

  1. Click Import Chat from the workspace menu
  2. Upload your .json or exported chat file
  3. Your previous project will load, and you can continue working immediately

2. Clone from Git

Import any GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket repository right into Kodezi Create.

  1. Click Clone a Git Repo
  2. Paste the repository URL (HTTPS recommended)
  3. Kodezi Create automatically clones the repo and sets up the environment
    • Installs dependencies
    • Detects build tools
    • Prepares the project for editing

3. Import a Local Folder

Use this to bring in a project stored on your computer.

  1. Click Import Folder
  2. Select your project folder from your device
  3. Kodezi Create imports your full file structure
    • All files and subfolders are preserved
    • The environment initializes automatically

Export Projects

You can export your project at any time for local development, sharing, or deployment.

1. Download as ZIP

Get a copy of your project as a compressed ZIP file.

  1. Click Sync & Export
  2. Select Download as ZIP
  3. Save the file to your computer

This is ideal for backups or sharing your project with others.

2. Sync to Folder

Sync your project directly with a local directory so changes stay updated automatically.

  1. Click Sync & Export
  2. Choose Sync to Folder
  3. Select a folder on your computer
  4. Kodezi Create keeps your local files synchronized with your online project

This is perfect for developers who want:

  • Local development
  • Version control with Git
  • External editor support (VS Code, JetBrains, etc.)
